Roots of Life Group - Substance Misuse and Mental Health

A weekly group to discuss topics on substance misuse and mental health.
COVID-19 Update: The roots of life group are operating on a first-come, first-served basis and will only allow 4 to 5 individuals into the room to ensure that the social distancing protocol is followed. In light of this restriction, the program is now offering participants the opportunity to join in remotely via Zoom. Please contact the program for more information on how to join in remotely.

The Roots of Life group meets every Tuesday at 2:00 PM.- 3:30 PM

The Roots of Life group provides and promotes the following:
  • An environment where everyone is welcome, including friends, family and support people.
  • A safe, accepting place to learn about mental health, substance use and their connection.
  • No expectation of sharing personal mental health concerns or substance use history.
  • Exploration of misunderstandings and myths about addictions and mental health.
  • Support and education for individuals interested in reducing the harms of substance use.
  • A non-judgmental environment to discuss and heal the impact of stigma, guilt, and shame associated with addictive disorders.
  • Information on how to connect with the Mental Health and Substance Use system.
